NLTE-12 Code comparison workshop
The 12th NLTE Code comparison workshop will be held in Valladolid (Spain), supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Centro de Láseres Pulsados (CLPU) and the Ayuntamiento de Valladolid. The workshop will take place in October 17th-21st (2023), in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Valladolid (Spain).
Advanced collisional-radiative (CR) models are extensively used in plasma spectroscopy to analze plasma kinetics and spectra produced far from local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE). Non-LTE atomic models also play a critical role in radiation-hydrodynamic simulations used to help design plasma experiments. It is therefore not surprising that verification and validation (V&V) of these complex CR models are of significant interest. Since experimental benchmarks for validation are extremely challenging, computational experiments and comparisons are one of the primary tools for V&V of CR codes. The NLTE Workshops aim at development of such tools and techniques.

Transportation to Valladolid
The easiest way to get to Valladolid is to fly to the International Airport of Madrid (Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas). Valladolid is located ~200km North of Madrid, with several trains serving daily from the Madrid-Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station, directly connected to the Airport by Metro (subway) or Cercanías Renfe.
Additionally, multiple buses travel from Madrid Airport to Valladolid everyday, leaving from Terminal 4 (alsa.es).
Finally, Valladolid also has a National airport with connections to other Spanish aiports like Barcelona.
