Summary of 12th NLTE Code Comparison Workshop
This week (17th-20th October 2023), the 12th NLTE Code Comparison Workshop was held at the University of Valladolid, and organized by our research group, in collaboration with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Centro de Láseres Pulsados (CLPU), the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Valladolid, and the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (Research grant No. PID2019-108764RB-I00).
In this event, 20 experts in atomic kinetics calculations met in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Valladolid to discuss the new possibilities in the field, and compare the results obtained by 15 different codes applied to state-of-the-art problems in Plasma Physics.

The workshop was completed with two invited talks by Dr. Timothy Kallman (NASA), who discussed the advances in X-ray spectroscopy astronomy related to the (previous) Hitomi and (future) Xrism space missions; and Dr. José Luis Henares (CLPU), who provided a comprehensive summmary of the research that is being performed at CLPU, as well as the upgrades that the center will be having in the future years.
